Tell us your story- how you got from AL to Ole Miss to NYC
When people ask me what it was that made me want to move to New York, I tell them "New York." I grew up in Tuscaloosa, went to Ole Miss and then moved to NYC straight from college. Each place I lived was the perfect stepping stone for the next phase. I know, I know, you're thinking "how in the world did Oxford, Mississippi prep you for NYC???" but the truth is - in the best way possible. The only one from my town attending Ole Miss (I grew up in Tuscaloosa, remember...) I was forced to make all new friends and it turned out that friends were something I had previously taken for granted.
Tell us about your job
I am a freelance photographer (www.sarabethturner.com). I photograph on location and my style (which has been this way for as long as I've held a camera) is natural and candid. My goal is to try to capture the essence and joy of each person I photograph and I am blown away day after day that my "job" and my gifts are one in the same.
