Remember… we are launching an all new Flying Solo on Monday January 3rd! We will no longer host it at this address. Instead you will find it by going to my main website and clicking on the “Flying Solo” button on the home page or by going to www.denisehildrethjones.com/flyingsolo
Last week we talked about the amazing faith Mary must have had to be willing to trust the Holy Spirit and become the mother of Jesus. But what about Joseph? Oh my…now doesn’t he have a story to tell. All he did was fall in love with a young girl and determine to build a life with her. He didn’t bargain for facing one of the greatest places of shame a life during that season could have faced. But it didn’t matter…Joseph risked it all on faith.
He risked a faith so great- that Mary’s story wasn’t a lie, that God really was in the middle of such seeming insanity- and that if He was willing to take the journey with Him he might get to experience one of the most extraordinary moments in life. And not just witness it, but be a player in it. And what a role he had. God gave him the privilege of parenting His boy.
I wonder how many times our fear- our doubts- our “not believing the best” in someone else has caused us to miss some extraordinary display of God’s love. Christmas time is all about faith. It is about believing in a virgin birth, it is about believing that one day there will be a beautiful end to all of our stories. It is all about faith.
And the journey is as well. Our entire journey from beginning to end and our ability to experience the miraculous in our lives will be defined by our faith…What are you willing to dare to believe in or for this Christmas?
