What a year it has been…as we close it out together I wanted to make the announcement that we are launching an all new Flying Solo on Monday January 3rd! We will no longer host it at this address. Instead you will find it by going to my main website and clicking on the “Flying Solo” button on the home page or by going to www.denisehildrethjones.com/flyingsolo
Our goal is to make this a more interactive-community. The journey of singleness is such an amazing ride and we have so much to learn from each other in our experiences. So, that is what we are hoping to create for you.
But to close out this year – I wanted to take a quick journey with the four main characters that got to experience the birth of Christ. The first is that young woman named Mary. Can you imagine? I’ve tried to so many times to imagine what I would have done at the young age of sixteen if I had been visited by an angel and told that I was going to have a child…supernaturally no less. And I’m moved past the absurdity, past the fear, past the shame and I go to the one common denominator in every player in this story of the ages…faith.
And I’m reminded, that is what this season is all about. That is what this life and our own personal stories are all about…faith. Do I have enough faith to trust God even when life seems incredibly different then the picture I had painted for myself? Do I have enough faith to trust God even when what He is asking of me could cause me shame or ridicule? Do I trust God when He looks at me and says – I’m going to entrust something amazing to you- are you willing to take the ride with me?
If Mary hadn’t been willing to risk every ounce of faith on God- oh my what would she have missed…and what may we?
